In Venezuela, it came on early Thursday evening to a large-scale power outage. This was reported by several local media and eyewitnesses in social networks. The failure affected next to the capital Caracas 15 out of the 23 states in the country, as emerged from the messages.

One week and many canisters of tear gas later, the border between Venezuela and Colombia remains closed.

Venezuela Aid Live is a 22 February 2019 concert to benefit Venezuela that took place in Cúcuta, a city on the Venezuelan–Colombian border. The all-day concert, called Música por Venezuela: Ayuda y Libertad (English: Music for Venezuela: Aid and Freedom), is organized by Richard Branson, and featured over thirty of the best known Latin American artists from nine countries.
